Life story
December 16, 2011

Born on June 14, 1966

Passed away on November 23, 2011

Chidinma Felicia was born on June 14, 1966 at Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, to the late Luke and Elizabeth Chukwuocha. She was the last child of the family. As a little girl, she nursed the ambition of taking her mother to "America". I remember on one occasion when mama was very sick, she said "Mama, don't worry you will not die because I will grow up and take you to America." She fulfilled this promise when she and her husband invited mama over in the year 2000.

Chidinma loved education. she began her primary education at Central School Eke Nguru Mbaise in Imo State, and concluded it at Aladina Model School, Ibadan. Thereafter, she got into St. Anne's Catholic School for her secondary education. From there, she secured admission into the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, where she obtained a First Degree in English Education and a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling. She did her national youth service (NYSC) in Ogun State, Nigeria.

She got married to her wonderful and loving husband, Ikechukwu Okoro, on the 23rd of December, 1994, and moved over to California, USA to live with him. In the USA, she worked for sometime in the education sector, before going back to school to study nursing science and eventually became a licensed nurse.

Chidinma lived her life not just for herself but for others too. She was a very determined person and had a way of working around pressures. She was down to earth and unassuming. Though short-lived, her life was meaningful.

Chidinma is survived by two lovely daughters (Chidube and Chetachi), a loving son (Chidike) and her sweet and caring husband, Ike Okoro, who loved her and was dutifully committed to her to the end.

Chidinma is also survived by Margaret Dekwere (Sister), Mike Chukwuocha (Brother), Angy Faji (Sister), Regina Chukwuocha (Sister) and Obiagari Dulagha (Sister).
